Do you think your God loves you?
Do you fear your God?
Do you worship your God?
Do you pray to your God?
Do you thank your God when things go well?
Do you blame your God, or pray harder, when they don’t?
If the answer is “yes” to most of these,
Then perhaps the God you believe in
Is either one that someone else built for you,
or one you crafted yourself.
Whereas, in truth,
It was never meant to be the other way around.
WHAT THEN IS MY GOD?
My God created this कायनात — this vast universe —
And set it in motion with certain laws.
Unyielding. Absolute. Without exceptions or provisos.
IF I follow the path,
I will be blessed.
If I wander off,
I will face the test.
He does not love.
He does not hate.
His justice is impersonal,
Emotionless.
And among His laws,
Worshiping Him is certainly not a Rule.
For what kind of egoistic God would derive joy
In merely from being worshipped,
While His creation disregards the laws
He Himself has laid down?
Perhaps He exists.
But for sure He is not seeking me.
I must walk the line.
And obey the rules.
And I’m sure
I will find the sacred JEWEL.
